چکیده
Oily wastewater is an urgent issue that threatens the ecosystem and human health. Superhydrophobic porous materials are widely concerned as promising candidates for effective oil/water separation oil adsorption. However, superhydrophobic still confronted with frustrations such complex preparation processes secondary pollution to environment. biodegradability a relatively simple process more attractive practical application environmental protection. In this work, biodegradable industrially applied polylactic acid (PLA) nonwoven were used membranes, then PLA nanoparticles loaded on membrane surface construct hierarchical rough structure. The modified (nano-PLA) shows superhydrophobicity efficient performance. Moreover, strong mechanical strength acceptable toughness obtained. This work offers easily controlled pathway design of robust, highly selective, materials.

Electrospun polylactic acid nanofiber membranes as substrates for biosensor assemblies
Biotin has been successfully incorporated into polylactic acid (PLA) nanofibers through electrospinning to prepare membrane substrates for biosensors based on biotin–streptavidin specific binding. Biotin incorporated PLA nanofiber membranes were characterized with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), and confocal microscopy. Under optimized conditions, small ...
متن کاملPhospholipid nonwoven electrospun membranes.
Nonwoven fibrous membranes were formed from electrospinning lecithin solutions in a single processing step. As the concentration of lecithin increased, the micellar morphology evolved from spherical to cylindrical, and at higher concentrations the cylindrical micelles overlapped and entangled in a fashion similar to polymers in semi-dilute or concentrated solutions. At concentrations above the ...
متن کاملCarbon membranes for efficient water-ethanol separation.
We demonstrate, on the basis of molecular dynamics simulations, the possibility of an efficient water-ethanol separation using nanoporous carbon membranes, namely, carbon nanotube membranes, nanoporous graphene sheets, and multilayer graphene membranes. While these carbon membranes are in general permeable to both pure liquids, they exhibit a counter-intuitive "self-semi-permeability" to water ...
متن کاملPolylactic acid (PLA)
This website provides an excellent overview of PLA as a polymer, its properties, and manufacture. This web article describes the production of lactic acid from biomass by microbial fermentation coupled to a poly-merization process to make PLA. The article is a bit dated and its industrial projections are now seen to be a bit over-optimistic. NatureWorks is the company that started large-scale p...
متن کاملLayer-by-layer bioassembly of cellularized polylactic acid porous membranes for bone tissue engineering.
The conventional tissue engineering is based on seeding of macroporous scaffold on its surface ("top-down" approach). The main limitation is poor cell viability in the middle of the scaffold due to poor diffusion of oxygen and nutrients and insufficient vascularization. Layer-by-Layer (LBL) bioassembly is based on "bottom-up" approach, which considers assembly of small cellularized blocks. The ...
